What is the problem of studying mathematics in a modern school
Why do students make mistakes in the account? And why, after studying for several years at school, children can not add 17 + 18 or 28 + 17? Even in examples like 7 + 8, children make mistakes.
Adults are perplexed: "How can this be done? It's 7 + 8, isn't it?”
We know "on the machine" that 7+8=15, or we understand that the number 3 must be added to the seven before 10, and then 5, since 8 is 3 and 5. And we easily believe that 7+8 = 15 (7+3+5). This is also taught at school: first, the composition of the number, for example, 15 is 7 and 8, etc., and then the above-mentioned method.
Children, based on computing skills within 20, then begin to use this technique with higher-order numbers, in more complex calculations. For example, 28 + 17: we add tens with tens, units with units 20 + 10=30, then we have 8 + 7 =15 again, and we get 30+15 = 45.
