First, the main idea of every religion — the idea of God as a reflection of abstract man-is not without humanism.

Secondly, global humanism does not deny all existing beliefs, national traditions, customs, established world views, etc., Moreover, it assumes them and is based on them.  Therefore, when we talk about the prospects of religion, we can only talk about its evolution.
One of the important functions of religion is the worldview function. It consists in the fact that religion tries to create its own picture of the world, moreover-its own socio-epistemological schemes for improving public life, to determine the place and role of man in the system of nature and society.

The content of the religious worldview is not divine, but human, or, better to say, social, despite its fantastical nature.

Religion has a regulatory function. Like any other sphere of spiritual culture, it creates a certain system of norms and values, but the specificity of which is primarily to preserve and strengthen the belief in the supernatural. This task is subordinated not only to religious actions, but also to family and household relations, a system of traditions and habits. Let us emphasize that religion has assimilated many elements of universal morality. And since God, in the words of F. In the case of an abstract man, then religious morality in many respects has not a supernatural, but a human, social character.

Under certain historical conditions, religion performs the function of integration, that is, the function of preserving and strengthening the existing social system. This, for example, was the role of Catholicism in feudal society, and Orthodoxy in pre-revolutionary Russia. However, in some cases, religion can also become a banner of social protest, as it was, for example, with medieval heresies and sects, with Protestantism, whose supporters in the era of its origin fought against feudal orders.

At the level of a separate religious organization, religion performs an integrative function, uniting co-religionists. However, at the same time, religion divides and opposes followers of different religions, which can be seen in the modern religious life of Ukraine.

Religion also has a communicative function, which is to maintain ties between believers by creating a sense of religious unity during religious activities, in personal life, family and household relations, as well as relations within various clerical organizations and even clerical political parties.

In the conditions of modern society, religion performs mainly an illusory-compensatory function. Note that, while it is not the dominant form of mass consciousness, it satisfies only the personal feelings of believers.

According to the worldview, regulatory and communicative functions of religion, due to the preservation of religious organizations, their scale is determined by the characteristics of confessional trends and categories of believers, which, in turn, are influenced by reality.

At the level of society the integration function of religion disappears: it unites only believers of a certain denomination, community and loses the role of a leading ideological factor that is designed to strengthen the social system.
